Welcome to Ownet

We are still under development, and is expected to be production ready in a few months.

Ownet is created so that you can own your online content.
This entire project is written using Rust language, with carefully crafted architecture to reduce load and downtime.
Ownet will be re-licensed in a free/Libre license (either Apache or AGPL) once feature-complete.

What you can do now

• You can create posts using two ways.
  1. The new micropub standard.
     • That’s right, you can post using any app that supports this standard, which are usually free and open source!
  2. From your website directly using extended markdown format (you will get a visual editor)!
• You can receive and manage webmentions!
• You can login to other websites using ownet if they support IndieAuth!
• You can create an account here using IndieAuth! (or use the manual registration page if you do not have a website)
• A lot of themes!

Once we are production ready

• Each user will have their own Ownet subdomain where they can become an administrator of a website just like this.
• With a small fee, you will be able to use your own domain instead of using ownet subdomain!
• NO ADS! (unless you want to add them)
